Melania Trump Lives in Her Own Way in Washington

Melania Trump decided to stay true to her known reputation as more of a homebody rather than social butterfly

Meanwhile, she has also been busy fulfilling her duties both as first lady and mom. Her number one priority has been her 11-year-old son Barron, who is the first boy in the White House since John F. Kennedy Jr., more than 50 years ago.

Barron has drawn interest with even the smallest details of his recent sightings: his “The Expert” T-shirt, holding the fidget spinner toy while exiting Air Force One, as well as his pivot to take a photo of the Marine One helicopter, as the family returned from a Father’s Day weekend retreat.

Mrs. Trump mentioned in a statement that she is enjoying White House life a lot, and does not miss New York that much. More than that, Barron is “all settled” and “loves it here”.

In her first lady role, Mrs. Trump has hosted her counterpart from Panama for a lunch upstairs, in the private quarters of the White House. More than that, she joined President Donald Trump to visit a Louisiana congressman and others who were shot during a baseball practice, at the hospital. In addition, she helped plan a picnic for the Congress’ members on the White House lawn.

Currently, she is making all the necessary preparations to accompany the president to Poland and Germany, after the 4th of July.

Questions still remained regarding what kind of a first lady Mrs. Trump will be, as well as how social she plans to be.

“I don’t know anybody in New York who knows her or ever sees her socially and I suspect that will be the same here,” said Sally Quinn, an author and Washington hostess.

Furthermore, president Trump described his wife as more happy while being at home than working the social scene.

“She would go home at night and didn’t even want to go out with people,” Trump said of his wife’s life in New York. “She was a very private person.”
