Apple Watch Series 4: There’s Nothing Like It

“Perhaps one of the most significant developments in wearable gadgets in year” as mentioned by The New York Times is launching tomorrow

The reviews for Apple’s Watch Series 4 are already piling up, triggering a great sentiment from reviewers in the company’s favor. Plenty of optimistic reviews are already out from other major media outlets.

The new Apple Watch stands apart from its earlier versions with a display that is 30% larger, even though it still benefits from a thin case. Even more, Apple Watch’s new S4 chip delivers twice the speed while maintaining the same all-day battery life.

Moreover, we can’t help but mention the watch’s new accelerometer and gyroscope that help detect falls and even call for help if needed. In addition to this, there’s a new electrical heart rate sensor for the electrocardiogram tests (ECG) and even an enhanced user interface that definitely takes advantage of the larger display and shows more content.

“[G]ame-changing bells and whistles have elevated the Apple Watch Series 4 from an investment-worthy health accessory to a sleek and beautiful device that actually might save your life,” wrote Women’s Health about the new device.

However, there is still one big question in the air: is the new watch compelling enough to convince current Apple Watch holders to let go of the previous model and upgrade to the new one?

Here’s the official presentation video for the newest Apple Watch:

“I’d argue for Series 0 and Series 1 [owners], [upgrading is] a no brainer at this point,” writes iMore’s Rene Ritchie. For Series 2 owners, Ritchie said the Series 4 is “compelling.” Series 3 owners, however, will have to “really want that new display, ECG, and fall detection,” Ritchie noted.
