Chinese Admiral’s Solution to Dominate the South China Sea Is to Sink US Aircraft Carriers

A Chinese Admiral stated that the way to eliminate the US from the South China Sea is by sinking two aircraft carriers

Rear Admiral Lou Yuan, who is deputy head of the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences, declared last month during a speech in Shenzhen that the solution to the issue over the ownership of the East and South China Seas would be to sink a pair of US super carriers.

This would cost US 10,000 lives, but that is why it should be done, the admiral pointed, because what the US “fears the most is taking casualties”. However, it would not be just a loss of lives; it would also be a huge economic loss, of $8.5 billion each.

This is not the first time Admiral Lou – that holds an academic military rank, not a service role – has had an aggressive outburst. He also stated that “Those who are trying to stir up trouble in the South China Sea and Taiwan should be careful about their future.”

However, the lack of democracy in China means that the nation’s tolerance for combat losses is likely higher that in the US.
